2004 Player of the Year Announced KUDOS To Nick Carbary, a sophomore at Mattawan, for winning the 2004 Junior Golf Association Player of the Year. The 15 year-old never finished worse than third place or shot higher than 74 in the four tournaments in which he competed. He finished with a 73.4 average and won the Independent Insurance Agents Junior Classic at Thornapple Creek in July. "There's just a ton of good golfers who could have won it," said Carbary, who's been coached by Bill Yates for the last five years. "I've been playing in the JGA since I was young.
