MASTER PLAN IN FULL SWING

For those of you who may have put the clubs away early last year you are in for a big surprise in the spring. A host of changes have been made to your golf courses and we feel that you will be as excited as we are when you view them.  We made a concerted effort to wrap up as much of the construction as possible last fall so that we will not have a lot of construction vehicles on the course during the 2000 season.  Every construction area has been seeded or sodded and after a brief recovery period in the spring, the new additions should be ready to play. No construction is planned on the courses for the 2000 season until the fall. You should have a great year of golf enjoying the new changes. This is what has been done during the 1999 year:

Hole #2 at Eastern Hills: Three new tees have been added to the right and forward of #1 green. A mound was added behind the tees to separate the holes. Trees were removed and a new green built behind the third tee. The green is approximately 7000 sq. feet and has two levels. It is guarded by a large bunker on the left side. A 230- yard drive will leave the golfer with a 150 yard uphill shot to the green. The changes were made to relieve congestion on the second tees and to improve on a undersized green.
Hole #3 Eastern Hills: Two new tees were built.
Hole #4 Eastern Hills: Two new tees were built. One is a two-tiered tee that will hold the Blue and White markers. A forward tee has been added for the red and gold markers. Mounding around the green has been added and the bunker on the right will be enlarged. Number four offers a completely new look and a large mound now separates #4 tee from #15 tee.
Hole #5 Eastern Hills: Three new tees have been built left of the existing tee.  Mounding around the green has been completed with a new bunker on the left and two bunkers on the right.
Hole #6 Eastern Hills: A large two tiered tee has been added.
Hole #9 Eastern Hills: Three new tees have been added and large mounding and a bunker has been added to the right side of the hole. The fairway has moved to the left approximately 20 yards and the hole is now a decidedly dog-leg to the right. Changes have enhanced tee space and have protected the fifth tee area. A good example of changes made for the safety of our golfers.
Hole #10 Eastern Hills: A 6500 sq. foot green has been built guarded by a larger bunker to the left. It is positioned about 55 yards behind and to the left of the old green. The new design calls for a double dog-leg hole. The center of the fairway goes left of the tree (removed) that was in the center of the fairway. There are large mounds that shield the right side and turn your eye away from the tower. Your second shot brings you back to the right side that now offers a series of large mounds and five fairway bunkers. Your third shot moves back to the left to the green. In 2000 this hole will play much longer than before but new tees will be added next fall. A change here keeps the tower out of play and replaces the worst green on the course. You will love this hole!
Hole #12 Eastern Hills: Mounding to the left of the green and a new bunker to the left.
Hole #13 Eastern Hills: A one-acre pond was built along the right side of the hole and three tees have been added. The bunker to the right of the hole has been enlarged and mounding has been added to the left and rear of the hole.
Hole #14 Eastern Hills: A three-tee system has been added.
Hole #15 Eastern Hills: Mounding behind the green has been added to offer some backdrop to your approach shot and also stops ball from running into the woods. Three new tees added.
Hole #18 Eastern Hills: The back tee has been enlarged and leveled.
Tree planting Eastern Hills: Twenty-four 10-15 foot maple trees have been added to the course on holes #5, #9, #10, #11, #15, #17, and number 18.
New fence at Eastern Hills: Approximately 1800 feet of chain link fence was added to the west-side of the golf course. With the new apartments being built we wanted to prevent easy access to the course from that area.
Bunker renovation at Milham Park: All bunkers have been restored with the addition of a drainage system within the bunker and new sand replaced.
Driving range revamp at Milham Park: A safety fence was added to the top of the berm at Milham Park and five target greens were built. The grass tee was enlarged and a new concrete pad was made to use when we are on the mats.
Hole #1 at Milham Park: New blue and red tees were added
Hole #3 at Milham Park: A new gold and red tee was added.
Hole #5 at Milham Park: A new red tee was added.
Hole #6 at Milham Park: New red, gold, and white tees were added to the left of the existing tee. When new tee is ready we will also enlarge existing white/blue tee.
Hole #7 at Milham Park: A new red tee was built and also a new white/gold tee.
Hole #9 at Milham Park: An addition was made to the blue tee and changes are being made on how the fairway is being cut. Some pines are being removed to open up the fairway slightly.
Hole #10 at Milham Park: Fairway bunker to the left has been removed and three new bunkers installed to the right.  Safety at the range is main reason for the change.
Hole #18 at Milham Park: Gold and red tees were added.

We thank you for your patience during this remodeling phase. We hope you are enjoying the changes and feel free to offer any suggestions you might have.
