KALAMAZOO TAKES EASTERN HILLS “OFF THE MARKET.”
With the rejection of the bid from the local Elks Lodge to purchase Eastern Hills, it essentially takes Eastern Hills off the market.  This process dates back to the fall of 2004 and it is with great relief that we bring this news to you.

In the end we owe a lot of thanks to City Manager Ken Collard and the Economic Development Corporation’s Executive Director, Jerome Kisscorni, for their efforts.  It was a difficult decision on the City’s behalf, and we are indebted to all of those who took the time to call their commissioner or write a letter.

Click here to read the May 22nd Kalamazoo Gazette article about the sale.

JUNE SCHEDULE LOADED WITH ACTIVITIES
The month of June is loaded with a lot of fun activities beginning with the popular Bob Millar Best Ball-Scramble on June 2nd & 3rd.  Both rounds will be played at Milham Park this year and you have until Wednesday May 30th to sign up.  Click here for an entry form.

On Saturday June 9th Milham is hosting a Member/Member Stableford event and on June 10th the Cash Skins Game will take place.  Click here for an entry form.

For Fathers Day Weekend, all Dads will be able to play Milham or Eastern Hills for $25.00 with a cart.  This special is good for both Saturday and Sunday at both courses.

On June 23rd & June 24th the Kalamazoo County Amateur returns to Eastern and Milham Park after a one year hiatus.  This event is open to all golfers who have a certified handicap.  It is a 36-hole medal play event with the first round at Eastern and the finally at Milham Park.  Sign ups are now available at both courses.  Click here for an entry form.

KIDS PLAY FREE ON SUNDAY AFTERNOONS AT EASTERN HILLS
Every Sunday is family day at Eastern Hills and you can bring your children to the course any Sunday afternoon for free.  As long as the adults in the group pay their green fee, their children will be our guests.  This is a great opportunity to introduce the game to your children and make it a weekly event.

PGA PROFESSIONALS AVAILABLE TO ASSIST YOU WITH YOUR GAME
The KMGA offers three PGA professionals and one PGA apprentice to help you with your golf game.  Jeff Rohrstaff, Paul Simonds and Jim Roschek are your PGA members who can fix that slice or help you with your short game.  Caitlan Roschek is a PGA apprentice, and has been active in teaching this spring.  Give one of our staff members a call to get some help with your game.
