LOTS OF OPPORTUNITIES FOR JUNIOR
GOLFERS
Welcome to summer!! After a month
of May that brought cold temperatures and lots of rain, lets all pledge to
play more golf in June. We have a lot of activities that you can
participate in, or brings some friends and get some open golf in.
IN THE BUNKER OR OUT OF THE
BUNKER
One of the continuing debates in golf is whether to put bunker rates in
the bunkers or leave them on the outside edge. I’ve seen it done both
ways. Our Greens Committee chooses to leave them in the bunkers and passes
along some pictures on how it should be done. We would appreciate all the
members and guests following the bunker policy.

FAMILY FUN WEEKENDS AT EASTERN HILLS
In an effort to encourage family golf, we are
dropping our prices for family golf on the weekends at Eastern Hills.
When the family plays as a unit, nine holes for an adult is $10.00 and kids
17 & under pay only $5.00 for nine holes. Where else can a family of
four play nine holes for $30.00? Times are restricted but your family
can play any Saturday or Sunday afternoon after 3:00pm for the above rates. Come out
and play every weekend this summer.
COUPLES DROP-IN FRIDAYS
We are promoting “Couples Friday” at Milham Park this summer. Any
Friday from noon to 7:00pm we will be promoting couples golf. We are going to
be having great bargains on golf and carts and special restaurant promotions
with area eateries. For $50.00 a couple can play eighteen holes with
a cart and get a promotional restaurant certificate for after golf. For
$30.00 a couple can play nine holes with a cart and also receive the
same certificate. KMGA members can take advantage of the day by getting the
restaurant promotion and an eighteen hole cart for $20.00 and a nine hole
cart for $10.00. This summer think couples golf, think Fridays, think
Milham Park.
CUSTOM CLUB FITTING DAY
Thursday afternoons in June and July will be custom fit day at Milham Park.
PGA Professional Jeff Rohrstaff will be available every Thursday between
1:00 - 3:00 to answer you equipment questions or to give you a custom club
fitting. Questions are free but if you want to go through the custom fit
process, the cost is $50.00. The full amount will be credited to you if you
decide to purchase a set of clubs. We will have all our custom fit carts
out and available to you every Thursday in June.
KMGA’S LIFE MEMBER PASSES
Former KMGA Secretary Alan Brown passed away this past week. Al was an
avid golfer and served as the Secretary on the KMGA Board of Governors for
twenty years (1975-1995). Mr. Brown was a graduate of the University of
Michigan and a History Professor at Western Michigan University for thirty
years. Al loved Milham Park and chronicled the decisions the KMGA Board
made for two decades. He was on the Board when I was hired and was always
supportive and always had an encouraging word. Al will be sorely missed by
his family, his friends, and me.
