Entries are now being taken for the BOB MILLAR Best Ball/Scramble
held at Eastern Hills and Milham Park May 31st – June 1st.
This popular event attracts over 100 2-man teams that are flighted
after the first 18 holes. Sign
up at either pro shop or print an entry blank online at www.kalamazoogolf.org.
Entry deadline is May 29th. LINK UP 2 GOLF: Do you have a family member or friend that is interested in learning the game? Beginning June 12th, seven area courses will work together to offer a brand new program called LinkUp2Golf. We will be working with new, adult golfers providing 8 hours of group instruction with a six student to one instructor ratio. Classes include free use of rental clubs and range balls during clinics as well as on course instruction on how to play the game including etiquette, lingo, etc. Classes will be held at the following facilities: Milham Park, Eastern Hills, Grand Prairie, Olde Mill, Thornapple Creek, Hickory Ridge and Gull Lake View. Call any of these facilities for more information. MICHIGAN PGA 24 HOUR GOLF PASS: Do you like to travel and play a variety of golf courses? The Michigan PGA golf pass will allow you to play 40 Michigan golf courses at 50% off their normal rate. The Michigan PGA has put together a program whereby you can play some of the finest facilities in Michigan at a 50% discount. Here is the catch: the program only works when you make your tee time within 24 hours of when you wish to play. It is good for the golf courses because they are filling tee times at the last minute, and it is good for the golfer who gets a 50% discount on greens fees and carts. So if you would like to play courses like Arcadia Bluffs, The Legend, Manistee National or Crystal Mountain at a 50% rate, stop by the pro shop at Milham Park or Eastern Hills and pick up a brochure on the Michigan PGA Golf Pass. WEEKDAY TEE TIMES START JUNE 1ST: Milham Park will once again accept weekday tee times between 12:00 noon and 7:00pm during the months of June, July and August. Reservations may be phoned in starting at 10:00am, one day in advance. Weekend reservations will be accepted at both Milham Park and Eastern Hills from 6:30am thru 5:00pm. Weekend reservations may be phoned in 3 days in advance starting at 10:00am. (Call Wednesday for Saturday times. Call Thursday for Sunday times.) SENIOR & JUNIOR MEMBER TIME RESTRICTIONS IN
EFFECT JUNE 1st: Senior
and Junior members are reminded that summer time restrictions begin June 1st.
Senior and Junior memberships are valid weekdays before 1:00 and
weekends after 1:00. Senior and
Junior members playing outside these times will be charged half of the
normal greens fee rate. CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP:
Members are reminded that the club championship is scheduled for
August 23rd and 24th.
A minimum of ten 18-hole scores is required to be posted into the
handicap system to be eligible to participate in your flight. WOMEN’S CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP: We are making a change in the women’s division of our annual club championship. We are going to host the tournament on a separate weekend from the men’s even to allow us to concentrate on making this event the best it can be. The new weekend for the women’s event is August 16th & 17th. Mark it on your calendars! FATHER’S DAY SALE: Check out the golf shops at Milham and Eastern for some great sales for Father’s Day. Let the staff know what you are interested in and we will make a note of it and share the information when you send a family member in. We have some great deals going on shoes and golf bags. The newest drivers by Callaway, Titleist and Taylor Made have made a difference in many players’ games. Pick out your favorite golf ball or glove or ask for a series of golf lessons from our professional staff. DEMO DAYS: Milham Park will be hosting a
demo day this Thursday, May 29th from 3:00-7:00.
Sales representatives from Never Compromise, Taylor Made, Adams and
Nike will be on hand to show you their newest product.
