SIGN UP FOR THE BUICK SCRAMBLE to be held Saturday, July 26^th at Milham Park.  This popular event is in its 20^th season as the largest amateur tournament in the world.  Teams of 4 compete in scramble format to advance from our local qualifier to the sectional qualifier at Kalamazoo County Club where they have a chance to advance to the National Finals in Orlando!  Participants must have a USGA handicap index, and team must meet special criteria.  (Basically, only 1 team member may have a USGA index of 8.3 or less)  This event is geared for players (both male and female) of all abilities, not just the scratch golfer.

Entry fee for the local qualifier is $50 (plus any greens fees and/or carts).  Participants in the local qualifier will receive:  One dozen Strata golf balls, $500 purchase incentive from Buick, $50 Buick test-drive incentive that can be redeemed in our shop, opportunity to advance to the Sectional Championship and possible the National Championship, gift certificates and prizes (based on number of entries), local media and publicity.

JGA FATHER-SON / PARENT-CHILD TOURNAMENT:  Entries are now being accepted for the annual Junior Golf Association Father-Son / Parent-Child tournament to be held at Eastern Hills on Sunday, August 3^rd.  Entries are available at either pro shop or online at: www.kalamazoogolf.org.

LINK UP 2 GOLF:  The first session of Link Up 2 Golf was a success with 13 participants between Milham Park and Grand Prairie.  This instructional program geared towards beginners is a national program initiated by the PGA of America.  Its goal is to create new golfers and make them feel comfortable and welcome at the golf course.  A new session is now scheduled to start July 22^nd at 7:00pm.  Class will meet 6 times for 90 minutes per class on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Classes feature:  6-1 student-teacher ratio; rental clubs if necessary; instruction on etiquette, terminology and swing fundamentals as well as on-course instruction.  Cost is $129.95.  Call Grand Prairie at 388-4447 to sign up.  More information can also be found at www.playgolfamerica.com
