2002 John Block - JGA Scholarship Winners Announced JGA SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS: Three outstanding young people have been selected as the 2002 winners of the John Block Junior Golf Association Scholarship. The winners this year are Amanda Wilson of Portage Central, Nick Muszynski or Kalamazoo Central and Bill Keselowski of Schoolcraft. To be eligible for the scholarships, the students must have a 2.50 grade-point average or better and they must have been JGA participants. In addition to displaying outstanding scholarship, they must have demonstrated good citizenship. Being a good golfer was not one of the criteria, but being active in the game was. Wilson is an outstanding young woman and is headed to Michigan State University. She had a 3.917 career GPA and led her Mustang golf team to the state finals tournament this past spring. She ranked 20th in her class of 335. Muszynski and Keselowski were also very deserving candidates and it was too hard to separate them, so the committee took the easy way out and split one of the $1500 scholarships in half for each. Muszynski compiled a 3.696 GPA and ranked 36th in his class of 247. Like Keselowski, Muszynski will be attending Western Michigan University. Keselowski had a 3.761 GPA and ranked 15th out of 80 in his class. With young people such as these three, our future will be bright.(article reprinted by permission)
